01 Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a binding agreement between you and FTP Travel LLC ("TrueReels", "we", "us"), the publisher of the TrueReels iOS application (the "App") and the video service delivered through it (together, the "Service").
By downloading, installing or using the App, or by starting a subscription or free trial, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.
This agreement is between you and FTP Travel LLC only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. See section 14.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, and if you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use it with the consent of a parent or guardian who accepts these Terms on your behalf.
02 What the Service is
TrueReels is a subscription streaming service for short cinematic documentaries — episodes typically 90 seconds to two minutes long, grouped into series that run in order.
- Every image and every moving shot in an episode is generated with AI tools from prompts we write. Episodes contain no archival photographs and no archival footage, no stock library material, and no clips licensed from anyone else. The narration is synthetic speech, and the music is original to us.
- Some scenes are deliberately given a period "archival" look — sepia grade, film grain, torn-paper edges — to mark the moments in a story that rest on the documentary record. That is a visual convention, in the way a reenactment in a television documentary is a visual convention. It is not archive material and it is not a recording of the actual event. Nothing in an episode is a photographic record of what happened.
- Factual claims are researched against sources and, where our Sources & Context feature is available, the supporting citations are shown in the app.
- We take editorial accuracy seriously, but the Service is provided for general interest and education. It is not professional, legal, medical, financial or historical-research advice, and you should not rely on it as the sole basis for any decision. If you believe an episode contains an error, tell us (section 18) and we will review it.
We may add, change or remove episodes, series and features at any time. Catalog availability is not guaranteed for any particular title.
03 No account required
This version of the App has no user accounts. There is no sign-up, no sign-in and no password, and no feature of the Service is gated behind registering with us. We do not ask you for an email address, a name or any other personal detail, and we could not create an account for you if we wanted to.
Instead, your installation of the App identifies itself to our backend with an anonymous identifier issued when you first open it. Your watch progress and your saved list are stored against that identifier. It is not a credential you control and it is not shared between devices, so your progress and saved list stay on the device that created them.
You can erase everything held against that identifier at any time using Reset saved data on the You screen, which also retires the identifier and issues a fresh one. Deleting the App has the same effect on your device. Both are described in our Privacy Policy, and neither cancels a subscription — see section 4.
If a future version of the App introduces accounts, these Terms will be updated before it ships.
04 Subscriptions and auto-renewal
Read this section carefully. These are the terms Apple requires us to disclose for auto-renewable subscriptions.
- Title of service: TrueReels All Access.
- What it provides: unlimited access to the full TrueReels catalog for the duration of each subscription period, including episodes beyond the free preview episodes offered to non-subscribers. Access is granted by the all_access entitlement.
- Length of subscription and price: All Access Weekly — 1 week — USD 4.99 per week; or All Access Monthly — 1 month — USD 14.99 per month. Prices in other regions are set by Apple's price tiers and are shown in the App before purchase.
- Free trial: 7 days free on either plan, then USD 4.99 per week or USD 14.99 per month, for new subscribers.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Your subscription automatically renews unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your Apple ID account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the price stated above for the renewing product.
- You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal after purchase in your Apple ID Account Settings (on your device: Settings → your name → Subscriptions).
- Any unused portion of a free trial period is forfeited when you purchase a subscription to the Service, where a free trial is offered.
- Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription. You must cancel in your Apple ID Account Settings.
Price changes
If we change a subscription price, Apple will notify you and, where Apple requires it, ask you to consent before the new price applies. If you do not agree, cancel before the next renewal.
Refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple and refunds are handled by Apple, subject to Apple's policies. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases directly. Except where the law of your country provides otherwise, payments are non-refundable and there are no refunds or credits for partially used periods.
Restoring purchases
If you reinstall the App or use a new device, use "Restore Purchases" in the App to restore an active subscription bought with the same Apple ID.
05 Licence to use the App
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to install and use the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, and to stream the content for your own personal, non-commercial viewing.
This licence is governed additionally by Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement to the extent that agreement applies. It ends automatically if you breach these Terms.
06 What you may not do
You may not, and may not permit anyone else to:
- Copy, download, record, screen-capture for redistribution, rip, re-upload or otherwise redistribute any episode, in whole or in part. (The App streams; it has no offline download feature. If we add one, this restriction will not apply to using it.);
- Publicly perform or exhibit the content, including in a business, venue, classroom, broadcast or streaming context, without our written permission;
- Circumvent, disable or interfere with any digital rights management, access control, signed playback URL, geographic restriction, or the paywall;
- Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the App, except to the extent that restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
- Scrape, crawl or bulk-extract our catalog, metadata, artwork, scripts or source citations, or use them to train a machine learning model, without our written permission;
- Resell, sublicense or commercialise your access, or share it in a way that lets other people use a subscription you paid for;
- Use the Service to break the law, infringe anyone's rights, or interfere with the security or normal operation of the Service.
07 Intellectual property, sources and attribution
The App, its design, artwork, episode scripts, narration, generated and composited imagery, the TrueReels name and logo, and the catalog as a whole are owned by FTP Travel LLC or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership to you.
Our editorial and attribution stance
- Episodes are built from a research process that requires factual claims to be supported by located, quotable evidence before they can be narrated. Where our Sources & Context feature is available, we display the citations behind an episode so you can check them yourself.
- Facts are not owned by anyone; expression is. We cite the sources we relied on. Episodes currently reproduce no third-party photographs, footage or recordings at all. Where an episode quotes a person's documented words — from testimony, a document or a published account — it is a short quotation used for commentary, reporting and education, and the source is identified. If a future episode does license or excerpt third-party material, we will identify it on the same basis: licence, public domain status, or fair use.
- All imagery and motion in an episode is generated for TrueReels and is our material. It depicts documented events; it is not a photographic record of them.
- The typefaces used on screen are licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 and remain the property of their respective authors.
- Citation of a source does not mean the source's author, publisher or institution endorses TrueReels.
Corrections and rights claims. If you believe an episode contains a factual error, or that material of yours has been used without the right to do so, contact us at [email protected] with enough detail to identify the episode and the material. We review corrections and takedown requests promptly and will amend, credit, re-license or remove material where warranted.
08 Feedback
If you send us suggestions or feedback, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use it without obligation to you. Do not send us anything you consider confidential.
09 Third-party services
The Service depends on third parties including Apple, and our hosting, subscription-management and video-delivery providers. Their outages, changes or terms may affect the Service. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
10 Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. Cancel your subscription in Apple ID Account Settings, erase your stored data with Reset saved data on the You screen, and delete the App.
We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, if we reasonably suspect fraud or abuse, or if we discontinue the Service. If we terminate your access without cause while a paid period is running, you may seek a pro-rata refund from Apple under Apple's policies.
Sections 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 survive termination.
11 Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or available in any particular territory, that defects will be corrected, or that content will be free of error. We do not warrant the completeness or accuracy of any historical, scientific or factual statement in the content, notwithstanding the editorial process described in section 7.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12 Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or relating to the Service, even if we were advised such damages were possible.
- Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD 50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory consumer rights.
13 Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FTP Travel LLC and its officers, employees and contractors from claims, damages and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.
14 Apple-specific terms
You acknowledge that:
- These Terms are between you and FTP Travel LLC only, not Apple.
- FTP Travel LLC, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content.
- Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support for the App.
- If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to the App, including product liability, legal or regulatory non-compliance, and consumer protection claims.
- Apple is not responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement or discharge of any third-party intellectual property infringement claim relating to the App.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting", and that you are not on any US Government restricted-parties list.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, Apple has the right to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
15 Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the state of the United States in which FTP Travel LLC is organised, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. You and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in that state, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.
Nothing here deprives a consumer of the protections of mandatory law in their country of residence.
16 Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will change the "Last updated" date and publish the new version at the same URL. If a change is material, we will give notice in the App before it takes effect — since there are no accounts, we have no email address on which to reach you. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, cancel your subscription and stop using the Service.
17 General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
